Privacy Policy — J & M Ledger
The short version
Your books never leave your computer. J & M Ledger stores your bookkeeping data on your own device and, if you connect one, in your own company folder. We run no database of client books. The only personal information our servers routinely handle is your email address — to sign you in, decide what your plan includes, and count your AI usage.
What we collect, and why

The app itself and the sign-in, plans, terms, and privacy pages contain no analytics trackers and no advertising pixels. Our public marketing pages (the home page and service pages) use Google Analytics to count visits; it never sees the app or anything you do inside it.
AI features
When you use an AI feature, the content needed to answer — your question, a summary of your books, or a statement you chose to load — passes through our server to Anthropic (the maker of Claude) to generate the response. Our server does not log or store that content. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, API data is not used to train their models. AI features run only when you use them; nothing is sent in the background.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers, each seeing only what their job requires: Supabase (sends your sign-in codes; sees your email), Cloudflare (hosts the website and gate), Anthropic (AI responses, as above), Stripe and Square (subscription and invoice payments — your card details go directly to the payment processor and never touch our systems), and Formspree (contact and request forms; sees what you type in them), and Google (Analytics on the public marketing pages only; sees standard visit data, never the app).
Retention and your rights
We keep your email on the access list while you have an account, and remove it when you leave or on request. Usage counters expire automatically. Since your books are on your device, deleting them is entirely in your hands. To access, correct, or delete the information we hold about you — or to ask anything about this policy — email jandmtaxsolutions@gmail.com. We handle personal information in line with Canada's PIPEDA.
Clients of the accounting practice
If you separately engage J & M Tax Accounting Solutions Inc. for accounting or tax services and send us your books for that work, that information is handled under the engagement's own confidentiality terms and professional obligations — not this policy.
